The partnership between the University of the Philippines Visayas — specifically the Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanology (IMFO) — and Plongeurs du Monde aims to integrate scuba diving into the academic curriculum of students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Fisheries, the Master of Science in Fisheries - Fisheries Biology, and the Master of Science in Ocean Sciences. The goal is to help students broaden their professional skills while also involving them in meaningful and impactful research on marine ecosystems.
